PARALLAX
Parallax
par·al·lax | /ˈper-ə-laks/ | noun

Definition
The apparent shift in the position of an object when viewed from two different vantage points. In astronomy and photography, parallax describes how the same subject reveals new relationships, angles, and depth depending on where the observer stands.
Origin
From the Greek parallaxis - meaning “alteration” or “change.”
In Art & Photography
Parallax is the quiet reminder that perspective shapes truth. A doorway, a shadow, a street corner - each transforms as the viewer moves. What seems fixed becomes fluid. Distance creates depth. Angle creates meaning.
Upcoming Showing
"Duality of Liberty" will be up for viewing at Art Works in Richmond, VA, Friday, May 22 - Thursday, June 18.

Duality of Liberty

Declared as universal. | Experienced as divided.
Captured at St. John’s Church, where calls for independence once echoed, this image explores the relationship between visibility and access. A wrought iron barrier divides the viewer from the space, reinforcing the tension between liberty as an ideal and liberty as it is experienced.

Hi, welcome.
If you are here, it is truly an honor. At almost 40 years old (in a few years, anyway) I am finally allowing myself to step fully into the artist and photographer space. For a long time I kept that part of myself quiet, mostly thanks to a heavy dose of imposter syndrome. Turns out the only way through that is to start anyway. So here I am.
